Small Engines 101

This is the very first drawing we did about the engine we were starting. Illustrated in it is the four stroke process. The process first starts with intake, with the piston at the very top it descends forcing both air and fuel into the chamber. Next would be compression, in this stage the piston ascends compressing the air and fuel. After compression, while near the top, the third phase happens which is known as combustion. Here the compressed air and fuel mixture is ignited by the spark plug, the pressure from the reaction forces the piston to descend again. In the last stroke or forth stroke the piston once again ascends to the top with the exhaust valve open to expel what is in the chamber.
